Buy Bananagrams.
I was introduced to Bananagrams on Michelle's blog. She only had great things to say about it, and it looked like so much fun that eventually curiosity got the better of me. And the little zipper pouch the game comes in is just too cute.
So here's how you play. It's like a Scrabble game but each player builds their own board. When someone uses all of their tiles, they say, 'peel,' then every player takes one tile from the common pile. When there are fewer tiles than players left, it all comes down to speed. Whoever runs out of their tiles first and says 'bananas' wins.
Oh, it's so fun, and you'll be instantly addicted to it. I love that it's a word game like Scrabble, but moves much quicker and you're really playing only against yourself. Another cool thing is that everyone has a fairly good chance of winning right up until the end. I've been in the position before where I was the person to call the last 'peel', but the tile I ended up with was a 'q.' I couldn't think of anything to do with it quickly enough, so I lost that hand.
Again, I love this game! I currently have a hand set up on my floor that Shorty and I didn't finish from FHE on Monday. Do yourself a favor and get this game to play with your friends and family. You can play with only two players, and it only costs about $12. I took it to Elizaben's one night and they are hooked now as well.
