this self-portrait is to show posterity
(which may end up being just my nieces and nephew)...
what i looked like at 26 years old
(very nearly 27)...
at 8 o'clock in the morning
(with yesterday's mascara under my eyes)...
wearing a grubby gray t-shirt
(like i always wear when i do my hair)
with Christmas decorations and the beginning of Easter cards in the background
(ya, Easter cards)...
along with other messes created by a massive organization project
(why do things always get more disorganized when you try to organize them?)...
and running late
(because i thought it was saturday)...
for my job downtown
(i've always wanted a job 'downtown')...
but pausing to blog
(priorities, people)...
because it makes me happy.

this is a great read! love how you've captured the moment.
(and... i will be singing petula clark for the rest of the day.)
I love your writing style. I also love that you aren't afraid to show YOU to the world!
Happy is good.
I really like this post.
cute and natural! :o)
I love the commentary that goes with this picture... All of us have those kinds of days... don't we :)
hahaha!! LOVE THIS PHOTO and the explanation behind it. Rock on!
loved this SPT, way to keep it real!
Really great post, your posterity will love it more than I... Happy New Year!
Way to go!
Good job on prioritizing...lol! Blogging makes me so happy too :)
gotta blog, girl! loved reading your spt...such a great snapshot of your morning.
I thinking blogging is a great priority to have.
Easter cards for real?
yeah...last night was valentine's cards. it's avoidance therapy.
Organization can look scary while you're still in the process. What stinks is when you have to stop to go to work or feed a kid or put out a fire, and then you come back to the chaos-organization project. Bad.
By the way, each day this week, I've woken up and thought it was Saturday. What's up like that? (to quote Mom)
You are so poetic. It's like Haiku.
And please let's not have any negativity spread about your mother's lack of street talk.
If your dad would show me where the camera is, I would take an 8am picture for you. You remember he banned me from all cameras after I lost the last one in a Laundromat in Provo?
